Business Development, Marketing and Events Contract Work

ezbake technologies |  Vice President of Business Development     

Responsible for implementing a formal sales and marketing program for ezbake technologies, my family’s wholly owned certified WBE (Women’s Business Enterprise) company.   Responsibilities include all sales, database management, sales processes, contact and follow up with all prospects, all sales meetings, design of all sales and collateral materials.

  • Implement sales database with all steps of the sales processnot limited to, Kroger, Starbucks, General Mills, Nestle, SuperValu, Kellogg,Klosterman Baking Company, Delta  Airlines, Coca Cola, and  MGM Resorts and Casinos 

  • Design and produce all collateral sales materials (presentations, brochures etc.) 

  • Create and maintain website content and Amazon product listings

  • Identify and manage sales brokers and brokerage firms

  • Represent ezbake technologies at various conferences, events and other industry meetings

  • Identified and secured meetings and are currently in various stages of the salescycle with major corporations including, but 

  • Involved in the scaling process of proprietary enzyme blends before production

  • Developed with a Disney illustrator the branding for “Kate’s Kitchen” ezbake technologies’ finished product line featuring sustainable baked goods using alternative flours

Responsible for the management of the development and marketing activities including solicitation of major gifts, all annual fund activities, corporate and foundation grant writing and relationship maintenance and sponsorships, special events, and data management.  Also responsible for marketing content, annual reports, sponsorship materials, website, and social media.

  • Oversaw significant fundraising growth from fiscal year 13/14 to exceeding $900,000 in fiscal year 14/15

  • Created a year-long development plan featuring significant growth in unrestricted revenue

  • Reworked the annual fund mailing program resulting in more than 50% growth

  • Planned and executed a breakfast fundraising event that raised nearly $70,000, significantly over goal

  • Identified, cultivated and received funding from six new foundation grant sources

  • Implemented a social media management strategy and increased social media presence on all channels

  • Managed multiple campaigns and initiatives (Partners in Justice, the Mother’s Day Campaign, Men’s Campaign)

  • Exceeded fiscal goal on a 140 person golf outing segment with Detroit Lion Glover Quin

Responsible for the management of a four member development department including concluding a 20.1 million dollar capital campaign, management and solicitation of major gifts, all annual fund activities—grant writing, membership program, corporate and foundation grant writing and relationship maintenance and sponsorships, special events, and data management

  • Successfully completed a $20.1 million dollar comprehensive campaig

  •  Exceeded the special event fiscal goal of $295,000 with a successful 2013 Holiday Ball by securing sponsorships, and live   and silent auctions resulting in an event gross of approximately $430,00

  • Identified donor prospects and cultivated the relationship to the point of solicitation of major giftsattendees), Member Opening Event (300+), Community Leaders Breakfast, Public Re-Opening weekend (15,000+attendees), and the Dossin Great Lakes Museum Grand Re-Opening Gala (350 attendees)
    Actively managed multiple prospects, individuals and corporations, for both sponsorships and capital campaign gifts ($25,000+)

  • Managed all aspects of grant processes securing nearly $2 million a year from local and national foundations

  • Managed the process of a segmented targeted annual appeal mailing with an average response rate of 17%

  • Worked directly with board members to solicit yearly memberships ($1,000+) as well as capital campaign gift increases

Community Alliance | Director of Business Development and Marketing 

April 2009—July 2012

  • Directed a comprehensive rebranding and marketing campaign—including new logo, tag line, marketing materials, social media, advertising and website

  • Engaged community leaders and family members to advocate to the Washtenaw County Health Organization resulting in  more than $500,000 in “stabilization” payments to Community Alliance and over$2 million in payments across the provider network

  • Created and managed the Community Alliance Oral Health Initiative which created a  replicable model for oral  health care for special needs populations where clients received over $30,000 worth of cleanings, exams and x-rays for no cost twice per year. Established partnerships with Hospital Dentistry at the University of Michigan and the Coalition for Oral  Health and Aging to increase program impact

  • Created, planned, administered and executed special events- yearly dinner and awards program and The Community
    Alliance Classic—a Miniature Golf Outing

  • Managed three Development Coordinatorsestablished all gift processing policies

  • Established a development committee and subcommittees and managed and recruited all volunteers

  • Engaged members of the media and received press coverage. Negotiated more than $200,000 in free  advertising in the form of commercials and personal weekly radio appearances, and more than $100,000 in free billboards

  • Reengaged former board members through the creation of an “Emeritus Council”

Community Alliance | Director of Business Development and Marketing 

Created and executed a development, public relations, and marketing program for Community Alliance, an agency with a $7 million budget that includes three programs - Community Residence Corporation, Community Living Network and Community Housing Alternatives. Community Alliance provides housing and supportive services for the disabled and those with low to moderate incomes.
